Fielder, Somerset, NJWall Hanging, approx. 40" x 40" Michelle took the African Mosaic Quilt class a while back, adding her own touches to complete this piece for her friend's 50th birthday. She stitched the basic African Mosaic block, then split it in half and added three gold adinkra symbol appliqués. From top to bottom, the adinkra symbols mean 'charismatic leadership', 'quality control' and 'love always finds its way home'. . "It also has really tiny beads glued around the edges of the symbols", Michelle says, and she further embellished with cowrie shells and mud cloth borders.
