If you’re a quilter / fiber artist whose work incorporates themes of African textiles, symbolism or culture, Cultured Expressions would like to consider your work for its first fiber art exhibit in Ghana, entitled “SewJourn to Ghana: Contemporary Quilts from Traditional Textiles.” It takes place during our SewJourn to Ghana textile & craft tour in October 2013!
Whether you join us in Ghana for the tour or not, you’ll have an opportunity to show your work at the Dei Centre for the Study of Contemporary African Art, located in Tesano. It’s a beautiful facility, and we look forward to working with them. During the trip, we’ll attend the opening reception, followed by a panel discussion of the artists. The exhibit is open to artists worldwide; some preference will be given to tour participants. Here’s a sneak peek of the space:
